Organizing - the sock life

Lose sox often?

Most people have to deal with this issue, but we don't anymore. I'll tell you our secret, because it's a time safer and life saver. What i mean is, it actually saves time from your life. Years ago i heard a person loses 2 full weeks of their life, during their life, finding and matching sox.

Now, i'm all for anything i can find that saves me time. I'm a military person and also an organized person, so naturally i came up with a solution. Safetypins. Yup. Just keep them safety pinned together when they are clean, dirty, and when they are washed... and you'll never have this issue again. We've only encountered 2 pairs of sox, since we've been doing this, that unpinned themselves. 99% success rate. Well worth it too.

Here's our suggestion:

We walk around in slippers at home, so it's easy for us to take our sox off right when we get home and get into our "home" clothes. take them off, use the pins from the morning, toss them in the dirty basket. Done.

Decoding the Sox:
Husband - gets big brass safetypins - his fingers are larger.
Wife - gets silver safetypins - different color and easy to locate when sorting laundry from the dryer. Helps tell the two apart, especially if you tend to get similar sox.

Kids - use colored safety pins.
If you have a boy and girl - use pink and blue, or similar color.
If you have older kids and younger kids, and the older kids dont have same size foot as mom, they can use gold and silver pins also, and let little ones use colored pins.
